The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing parenting stress and to find difference in the factors between mothers’s and father’s parenting stress. The participants were 1607 mothers and fathers who had 5 years old children. Data of the 5th year of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey were used. The data collected were analyzed by Means, Standard Deviations, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation, and Multiple Regression, using SPSS 17.0. The results of this study were as follows: First, income, depression, marital relationship, was significantly related with father’s parenting stress. Also, income, depression, marital relationship, was significantly related with mother’s parenting stress. Second, the influential factors of father’s parenting stress were father’s depression and marital conflict; however, influential factors of mother’s parenting stress were mother’s depression and their children’s negative temperament.Keywords
